Commonwealth Lawyers' Association Boss, Chief Registrar Discuss Judicial Reforms
Mr. Santana Krishnan shaking hands with the Chief Registrar, HW Paul Gadenya

Mr.Santana Krishnan, the President Commonwealth Lawyers' Association on Thursday October 19, 2017 paid a courtesy call on the Chief Registrar, HW Gadenya Paul Wolimbwa at his Chambers in Kampala.

The two had very useful discussions regarding sharing and expediting judicial reforms in the Commonwealth. They noted that although different steps in the Commonwealth, including Uganda were engaged in judicial reforms to make the courts more efficient, the pace of the reforms was painstakingly slow due to capacity challenges.

It was further observed that reforms could be expedited if the Commonwealth takes the lead in incubating and spearheading reforms in the region, which could then be shared and rolled out to countries through a common template.

Mr.Krishnan agreed to take up this issue with the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, who in an earlier meeting with the Chief Justice, had discussed the same.
